Terms

Last updated 21 September 2026

Runco is early software made by a small company. These terms are written to be read rather than clicked past, and they try to be honest about what you are getting.

What you are getting

A licence to run Runco on your own Macs, for as long as the licence is valid. You do not own the software and you may not resell it, rent it out, or take it apart to make a competing product. Everything you make with it — your documents, decisions, code and correspondence — is yours entirely, and we claim nothing over it.

Your licence key

A key is issued to one person or company and covers a stated number of Macs. Activating binds a Mac to the key; the app then works offline, renewing quietly in the background about every fortnight. That is also why revoking a key is not instant: it takes effect when the current renewal runs out.

Do not share your key. If it turns up somewhere it should not be, we may revoke it.

It is a beta, and it acts on your behalf

Runco writes files, edits documents, files and closes issues in repositories you connect, drafts email, holds calendar time, and — if you approve a run — changes code in a folder you point it at. It asks before anything leaves your company or costs you money. It is still software in an early state doing consequential work, and it will get things wrong.

Keep backups. Use version control on anything you would hate to lose. Read what you are approving. We have built the guardrails we know how to build, and they are not a substitute for you paying attention.

What you pay for elsewhere

Runco does not include model usage. You bring your own API key, and what the models cost is between you and that provider. The app shows you what you are spending and lets you cap it, but the bill is yours and we cannot refund it. The same goes for anything you connect: your GitHub account, your Claude Code subscription, and any service you wire in.

Use it lawfully

Do not use Runco to break the law, to send mail people did not ask for, to impersonate anyone, or to do to someone else's systems what you have no permission to do. If you connect Runco to data belonging to your clients or your employer, it is on you to have the right to do that.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will try to keep the service up, keep your mail moving, and fix what breaks. We do not promise that Runco is error-free, that it will always be available, or that it will suit a particular purpose. It is provided as it is.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost data, lost time or business harm arising from using it; and where we are liable, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before whatever went wrong. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death, personal injury or our own fraud.

Ending it

Stop using it whenever you like; delete the app and it is done. We may end a licence if these terms are broken, or if the product itself ends — in which case we will tell licence holders, give reasonable notice, and refund what you have paid for time you will not get.

Changes

If these terms change materially we will tell licence holders rather than editing the page and hoping nobody notices. Carrying on using Runco after that means you accept the new version.

Law

These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes go to the courts of Amsterdam. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have where you live.
